Logitech Illuminated Keyboard K740

For several DAW products you can get custom keyboard overlays where keys are labelled with their software shortcuts. I considered getting one but decided to start with a standard keyboard — a custom layout only really pays off once you are an advanced user of the software.

My choice is the Logitech K740: a slim, backlit flat-key keyboard I already use at other workstations. The illumination is well suited for dimly lit studio sessions.

Logitech MX Master 2S

The MX Master 2S is a highly ergonomic wireless mouse with a precision scroll wheel and customisable side buttons. I use it across multiple machines and it is an excellent choice for long sessions at the DAW. No reason to go with anything else here.

TaoTronics LED Desk Lamp

Good adjustable lighting is easily overlooked but makes a real difference during late-night sessions. The TaoTronics LED lamp offers 6 brightness levels and 3 colour temperatures (warm, neutral, cool white). It can be turned and angled freely and includes a USB charging port.
